Doug Burr 12” Vinyl Event

Saturday, August 14
6pm, Good Records, Dallas

O Ye Devastator, the current release from Doug Burr, will be released on vinyl at this event at 6pm at Good Records in Dallas.  Details are mostly above, but it would be wise to go and pick up Burr’s current release.  Recently I was able to see a solo show with he and Glen Farris, both of Spune Productions, and have been pleasantly awaiting this release on vinyl.

Vinyl Sunday
Building a collection (Gear): Harmon/Kardon 3390
I gave away my Pioneer stereo receiver a little over a year ago just before I moved to Illinois for graduate school.  I wasn’t able to build a replacement system while in school, but after moving back to Texas, some of my contemplation has moved to gear so that I can listen again to vinyl.
The Harmon/Kardon 3390 is a stereo receiver that has garnered many favorable reviews on sites like Amazon.  I’m anxious to try the receiver, although I’ll probably try to scout one that is refurbished.  Each channel packs 80 watts of power, and the receiver itself is equipped with subwoofer outs.  The receiver sports a built-in preamp, which is helpful for me since I am without the proper gear to do a true analog setup.
I am most excited with the subwoofer output.  I’ve been anxiously awaiting the ability to setup a 2.1 system for my vinyl, since I love the rich tone of bass emphasized in all setups.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good subwoofer?
