“One Year” Art - Poster and DVD Art

I recently had the pleasure of completing my second project for Tom Kleine, an independent film producer living in northern Illinois. I had worked with Tom on his previous film project, One Week, and loved the experience, so it was a pleasure to be asked by him again to work on the disc and poster art for One Year.
The design aesthetic that I went for on One Year was aimed at emulating the disc art look for One Week. Three essential elements stood out on the One Week cover art that Tom wished to carry through to One Year: the large numeral, the super-imposed picture, and the listing of time elements as words. The listing of time elements was only featured on the back of the disc art on both films.
For One Year, I decided to give the project a bit of a larger, distinguished feel. The audience for this piece is largely film festivals, so I tried to give a distinguished look to the art by keeping the project in black and white.
